- what are you going to do with all those old monitors and peripherals you have laying around?
it would be fun to make a suite of actually functional software designed to run on raspberry pis or other low cost single board computers, complete with a $10 made-in-china scanner to, say, emulate a make-believe supermarket POS system/cash register.
this "game" could be used to print out inventory labels and such for things in the pantry, or books in the family library. I don't know about you, but I was the kind of kid that would be absolutely enthralled.
